Diet Alone

I had to go Christmas shopping yesterday and today I’m going out with a friend so this provides a unique opportunity to try and lose weight with diet alone this week. I’ll probably be able to go to the gym tomorrow but I’m not sure what my schedule is going to look like after that, especially with Christmas eve and Christmas this weekend. Good thing I busted my ass last week! 

Honestly, this month I was just hoping to maintain. December is one of the worst months for weight loss with all of the family gatherings and ridiculously long ‘to do’ lists. So far, my weight has been pretty good. I’ll be surprised if I see 155 but there is still some play with my weight going around so… we’ll see. Maybe I’ll just hit the home gym tonight so I don’t feel completely lazy.

It’s not necessarily the calories in the alcohol, it’s the fact that your body wants to metabolize this before anything else. Since your physical makeup is not equipped to store alcohol, you don’t have to worry TOO much about it so much as the things that usually accompany alcohol such as sugary mixtures or cheese sticks and wings. Your bodies primary priority when you consume poison it to get rid of it. Alcohol will also make you less inhibited so you’ll be more than happy to have that entire bowl of potato chips and dip. 
If you want to drink to inebriation, probably the best way to do it is with straight up 80 proof liquor and without consuming much anything else with it. 
Don’t drink and drive!

Quick Update! (Work, Pseudo Motherhood, Counting Calories and Diet)

Well of course all of my clients want a piece of the me pie today… I was really hoping to get some more Fitspo stuff out this week but it’s just not happening. Today my brother (I should probably explain why I’m doing my mother’s job but maybe in a later post) was vomiting at school so I went to pick him up and that took a nice chunk out of my day… I’ll be in the office till 7 and probably won’t leave the gym till 8. Assuming, of course, that I still have the energy to go. *sigh* 

I started counting calories again. I know that I should be happy that I’m losing inches but I hate to admit that I’d really like to see the scale go down at some point. Counting calories is kind of a chore but it really does help refocus and reeducate me on everything going into my mouth. I’m sure I can go back to just regular old healthy eating but for this month, I’m going to try an oldie but a goodie. It also turns out I’m not getting enough potassium or iron which I’ll admit, it really hard to do when you’re losing weight! I can only eat so many calories and the foods I choose, while rich in nutrients, still can’t cover the deficit I need in the K and Fe department. Looks like I might need some supplements after all. If I’m going by DGA standards, I should really try to remedy this or it could lead to problems down the road. My sodium intake is a tad bit too high as well. Ugh! At least my macronutrient breakdown is on par with today’s standards. 

Hopefully my followers won’t mind a few days without original content but I hope this explains it.

I forgot to mention…

A NSV! Even though I haven’t been losing a lot of weight… I went from a size 15 at my heaviest to a size 8! Numbers really don’t matter when you are lifting heavy like a sexy beast.  

(I weighed less than 160 and I was still barely a size 10 a few years ago)

My weight loss in graph form! See how the weight goes up and down daily but progresses downward? Perfectly normal! Don’t get crazed when you see the scale bounce!
