If you are hungry, you are doing it wrong!
Find foods that are healthy and taste appealing to you.
Pre make your meals at the beginning of the week (lemon juice will make salads last longer. You can freeze healthy dinners in tuppaware.)
Don’t purchase ice cream or treats, go out to enjoy them. You’ll think twice about eating it when you realize you’re going to have to take a trip to Dairy Queen.
A 20 minute walk is still better than sitting on the couch.
Drink a lot of tea. It’s warm which makes you feel full, fragrant, and boosts your mood.

Diet Alone

I had to go Christmas shopping yesterday and today I’m going out with a friend so this provides a unique opportunity to try and lose weight with diet alone this week. I’ll probably be able to go to the gym tomorrow but I’m not sure what my schedule is going to look like after that, especially with Christmas eve and Christmas this weekend. Good thing I busted my ass last week!

Honestly, this month I was just hoping to maintain. December is one of the worst months for weight loss with all of the family gatherings and ridiculously long ‘to do’ lists. So far, my weight has been pretty good. I’ll be surprised if I see 155 but there is still some play with my weight going around so… we’ll see. Maybe I’ll just hit the home gym tonight so I don’t feel completely lazy.

Currently trying to stop alcohol, who’s with me?

It’s not necessarily the calories in the alcohol, it’s the fact that your body wants to metabolize this before anything else. Since your physical makeup is not equipped to store alcohol, you don’t have to worry TOO much about it so much as the things that usually accompany alcohol such as sugary mixtures or cheese sticks and wings. Your bodies primary priority when you consume poison it to get rid of it. Alcohol will also make you less inhibited so you’ll be more than happy to have that entire bowl of potato chips and dip.
If you want to drink to inebriation, probably the best way to do it is with straight up 80 proof liquor and without consuming much anything else with it.
Don’t drink and drive!

And now for the first segment of: YOU SHOULD EAT
I’m still fiddling with the infographic on weight loss but the more I do it, the more I think I should spend time making it say exactly what I want. In the mean time, here is something that might help!

I forgot to mention…

A NSV! Even though I haven’t been losing a lot of weight… I went from a size 15 at my heaviest to a size 8! Numbers really don’t matter when you are lifting heavy like a sexy beast.

(I weighed less than 160 and I was still barely a size 10 a few years ago)

Don’t be the one that stands in the way of your own progress, you’ll have plenty of other people to do that for you.

Don’t be the one that stands in the way of your own progress, you’ll have plenty of other people to do that for you.

I decided to just throw up a grocery haul. :D

This looks tasty, doesn’t it? Yesterday I was busy running around like a mad woman and needed to grab lunch on the go. Unfortunately, I was a little strapped on cash and I needed to eat healthy but cheaply.

The picture above is actually a meal from Wendy’s for around 5 dollars and around 500 calories. The salad is half-sized and you can see that even half of a Wendy’s salad is a FULL portion of food. I added a baked potato with a tiny dollop of their reduced fat sour cream and I used only a little bit of their dressing to reduce unnecessary calories but to retain a bit of flavor. Is this the healthiest meal ever? No (I mean comeon, it’s still Wendy’s), but for not a lot of money it’s enough to satisfy you without breaking the calorie bank.

You can make it look even nicer with a clean plate (try to find smaller ones too… Portion control will make a big difference when eating!)

About:

A Fitness blog about getting healthy from the perspective of a graphic designer. I try to post original content including photos of myself. If there is a watermark on the image, it's mine. If not, it's probably a repost.

I DO NOT support proana, promia, or any eating disorders. If you prefer to live like that, that is your business, I'm not going to judge you for it (but I do try to correct diet misconceptions if they come across my dash). There is a section on losing weight the healthy way on my tumblr if you are interested though!

I try to follow people who have similar views about weight loss and health. If you have a tumblr like that I'll follow! Thanks.
